Yvonne G, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Chicano and Chicana Studies from the University of New Mexico.
Yvonne takes a trauma-informed, client-centered approach and integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, play in therapy, and expressive arts.
Her clinical experience spans hospital, community mental health, and private practice settings. Yvonne has worked as a Case Support Worker at UNM Hospital, where she provided crisis intervention, treatment planning, case management, and patient advocacy. She also has experience as a psychometrician conducting psychological and neuropsychological testing, which informs her thoughtful and comprehensive approach to assessment and care.
During her graduate training, Yvonne completed clinical internships providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, conducting biopsychosocial assessments, and facilitating groups, including LGBTQ+ youth. She has experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. Yvonne is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered. Known for her warm, grounded, and collaborative style, she helps clients build emotional regulation skills, increase self-awareness, and develop healthy coping strategies. She values culturally responsive and inclusive care and believes in meeting clients where they are to support meaningful, lasting change.
